Fellow WB newbie here and just found your thread. I'm not on YouTube but I might have to check your channel out ;)

We were planning on building a 200g with a bashsea sump until we got a deal we couldn't pass on a 220.6 and the rest is history.

I am very interested in how the bashses sump preforms for you as I would still like to upgrade but the cabinets don't leave a lot of space lol

Welocme to R2R and I can't wait to see your tank full!

Surely will keep you updated. So far I have never had a sump with so much space and potential to change stuff down the road.

Been following the build on YouTube as well! What was the name of the coral and fish shop you were at in the video? I’m down in San Diego and wanted to check them out this weekend thanks!
Nice man! It’s fish frenzy in Temecula. Great guys and have a great variety of nice fish and corals.

Ended up doing a drain in my wall to make water changes easy.

Watching this build has convinced me to choose the WB 180.5 over RS XL625. I am currently researching my equipment list. Definitely a GHL fan as I have a 2.1 doser on my BioCube and just ordered the ION Director. Plan is to use Ecotech pumps and still trying to decide on a skimmer (Reef Octopus, Bubble Magus, Nyos). You just gave me another one to research LOL. Plan on having a mixing station in the basement and fully automatic water changes.

Just trying to finalize my equipment list before BF so I can pull the trigger!

Very informative and fun to watch the progress!

That’s a great choice. Wait till you see the tank in person. So far it looks like you have very solid equipment on your list as far as the dry goods. That ION will be SOLID!!

So after installing the Leds the bottom really popped with the light bringing out lo the colors. I found myself in having to choose btwn white or grey elbows. I think I made up my mind and decided to go with the grey.

Looking awesome brother! Hope you’ll take a look at my build of the same Waterbox.

Wondering why you decided on a different sump?
I really like the design of the stock one, so I am curious as to your choice.

Nothing wrong with stock I just wanted color that’s all. Especially since I can make it match the plumbing :)

YouTube subscriber here. Why did you choose the Pax reactor over a standard refugium and why did you place the skimmer in chamber 2? I feel it is backwards and should be the first thing after the filter socks. I am sure it will work either way but curious as to why you made these choices.

FYI. I am in the middle of a 180 (6 foot) build so I am asking as part of research for my setup.

Hello brother and thank for following along. Refugiums are great and work very well. Personally I know that they can also be super messy with the light spill growing algae everywhere in the sump. I didn’t want to deal with that so decided to do the pax. Not to mention the pax can run a calcium reactor if you buy the kit they sell for it which forces the effluent from the CALRX back into the pax, which feeds co2 to the Chaeto thus crazy growth and increases ph. As far as the skimmer I run it the way Triton method does it. Also I want the first chamber to maybe become a frag section in the future or a fuge display. For now I just want it open.
