Finally got around to setting up my first saltwater tank in Austin, Texas. It has been cycling for a couple days already.

Equipment list:
Light: AI Prime 16HD
Pump: Sicce 1.0
Wavemaker: Nero 3
Heater: BRS Titanium 100W
Temp contoller: Inkbird
ATO: Reef Breeders Prism ATO

I used a 20lb bag of CaribSea Arag-Alive sand and selected about half of 40lb CaribSea LifeRock shapes. I’ll probably be removing the Koralia since the Nero just came today. Please share any advice or opinions you have.

I like the scape a lot. Side profile is very interesting and leaves a lot of sand space for corals etc. The one mod I like the most on mine is the Intank Media basket to replace the filter socks.

What are you planning for fish?

Thank you! I’m thinking 2 oc clowns, a bangai cardinal, and for the fourth fish it’s between a firefish, royal gramma, or some goby. I haven’t figured out the clean up crew yet. You have any suggestions for cuc based on this stocking list?

I'm using 2 trochus snails, 3 bumblebee snails, and 2 red hermits for cuc. I have very little visible algae in the tank so I wouldn't go any more than that.

First fish and frags! 2 oc clowns, a zoa, and a monti. I really need to get some coral lenses. I was a little hesitant to get the monti as one of my first corals but it was 8 bucks so I thought why not.

Started seeing a bunch of algae so I added some snails. I’m also acclimating a Banggai cardinalfish.

Kraken Reef lid came in. I got the overflow screen because I found my male clown in my filter sock one morning!

Added my first euphyllia, a hammer. Also got a royal gramma but he likes to hide so couldn’t get a pic.
