Waterbox use of UV Steriliser?

Hello Waterbox.
I have a question for you regarding your use of UV sterilisers.

Do you use UV sterilisers to generally reduce water column bacteria counts?

Or is it to specifically target virulent strains of bacteria?

Or perhaps to polish the water?

Maybe non of the above?

I personally have never used UV sterilizers in my own reefs. Now a fish only would possibly be a different story.
