I'm kinda trying to figure out the point. The generator i bought has a steady night mode. So far i just keep it pulsing all the time (ya know, actually generate waves)

Why would I want it on solid at night? Waves continues to get generated in the wild, don't they?

yep, probably useful if you have a small tank without enough hiding places for fish to sleep but apart from that I don’t see the need, keeping water movement going at night also helps with ph etc

I was going to always keep it on, it was more steady vs pulsing waves.
