Well what can I say. We tried to go big with this one and it backfired. Too many frags and not enough time to heal I think is where we went wrong. Our ambitions were sincere I am positive of that, but ultimately this one was brutal.

However, despite the challenges we still had a few finalists make it all the way to the finish line. And that means we definitely have some winners. So, a well earned congratulations to the few of you that pulled it off.

And, thanks again to everyone who participated. And extra special thanks to our organizers. Without whom these would be impossible.

So once again, many, many, many thanks @Reefing102 especially for taking the reins early on and picking up the slack. You are a literal machine my man, and I cant thank you enough. And to branching hammer for all your additional help.

And with that, here we go.

In first place, the winner of the 2023 blue ghost grow out! @Redfoxtang

2nd goes to @Jasonak

And for the first time ever we have a legitimate tie for 3rd @HudsonReefer2.0 & @penguinexdeus

You will all hear from me soon about your prizes! Congratulations guys!

Any photos of the first day and winners to compare growth over the year? I’ve never entered one of these till now and really curious how they look after a year.. we’re on month 6 in the others and see some growth but not nearly as much as I was expecting! Rrrrr hopefully that changes in the second half!

Thats when my bonsai and troll took off. They were growing but its seemed about last 4-6 months was when I really saw allot of growth. The ghost was a struggle for me not sure why, they were all on the same rock same spot within couple inches of each other so it was a cool experiment in that sense, were I knew they were all getting same current light etc and see some take off and the others not so much.

Yeah…. We all have that spot in our tanks! :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: I have a frag rock with pieces all butted up together just to grow out then when I move them to their permanent homes they show a slower growth..haha! My particular spot is right where my halides overlap and the par is 600ish and a mp40 blasts them… this makes me wanna switch from 250’s to 400 so the whole tank will grow faster.. hmmmmm

I just did bunch of rock/coral moving in my tank,, and one of the things I did was moved my Houdini to the spot where the troll, ghost and bonsai were :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:
Setting up a Low boy frag tank in decmeber when i have more free time. Will put the contest frags in there. Going to go ahead and keep it separate from the main so it will be more work than I want to do but its more of a bank that way. Im hoping that will allow me to really dial stuff in and tweak parameters to and keep them there. Will see :p Hopefully I can ramp up my growth doing this. Now that im really thinking about it, since 90 percent of my corals are from Adam I really dont need a bank assuming he doesn't loose them also. Im sure he has a bank or maybe even two :) The other main thing I wanted a low boy for was being to look down on the coral some of them are so much more amazing from top down view!
