Web-like stuff at base of zoas and on live rock

It’s not the stringy vermitid snail stuff

it’s at the base of some zoas and then at various places on the rock.

tried to self help with an internet search but found nothing.

Appears to be the same identified as a “common sponge”. Prefer to know exactly what kind, if anyone can ID.

Then…leave it or pull it off the zoas?

Some of the zoas in the view frame look less than happily opened. If that is what you see where the sponge is growing then I would remove some from around a few of your zoas and see if they perk up. I generally like sponge in my system but sometimes they are not working properly for the rest of the tank and need to be cleaned out.
