Due to recent posts I realised that my Anthelia Blue Snowflake was in fact the dreaded blue clove polyp. It was growing in 3 places, 2 of them small removable rocks which have come out and a few polyps on a large rock which I’ve covered in Aiptasia-X.

Chiseled the pulsing Xenia island into a smaller piece as it was trying its hardest to reach across to the main rock work. Looks less imposing now as it had grown extremely bushy.

Eheim return pump has started humming loudly after cleaning, no idea why so going to have to look at that in detail.

Pic to follow.

I was looking through my unused aquatics stuff and found a Fluval Marine Nano LED Bluetooth light that I’d forgotten about. I bought it and then realised the coverage wasn’t good enough, I was going to buy another but got side tracked in reviews for other lights and ended up getting the aqua knight instead. Well, I thought I’d give it another go and really liked the more natural look that it created so I bought a 2nd light and I’m really pleased with the results. I’m running the sunny reef profile but I’ve modified sunrise to last 2 hours and changed the sunrise and sunset times. Obviously I can completely configure these but right now I’m happy with this profile.

Here is a comparison.

Before with 30w aqua knight

After with 2x Fluval Sea Marine Nano 20w

The new ones are pretty heavy on the whites. You’ll probably see more aglae growth...

Small confession, I ended up turning white back up and so far no issues with algae. The corals are very happy.

Swapped the return pump out today whilst I was doing a water change. I’m not convinced all of these evo tanks are built to the exact same size in the back chamber. There was no way on Earth the Sicce 0.5 was fitting no matter what angle I tried, that baffle lip at the bottom stuck out way to far. I had to remove the front of the pump and the flow restrictor and then it fits with a small amount of room to spare.

Bought some frag plug rocks for my leathers that were on the sand. The 2 toadstools came on tiles so I glued some plugs to the tiles. Gorilla Superglue Gel is brilliant stuff, I don’t know why I ever messed about trying to use reef fix previously.

Cool softie tank! I’ve used sicce pumps. They work and are silent. I used I think Newa? brand which is eheim and it made the floor rattle.
