Hi guys

I have a Lubbock’s wrasse in my tank and introduced a flame back angel yesterday, there was a bit of fighting and the wrasse now has some fins missing, however this was only after they were trying to sleep on top of each other, they get on fine during the day. However I just noticed this on the wrasse’s eye, I’m not sure if it’s a scab or just a bit of dirt I should remove or should I be more worreied? I looked one minute and it wasn’t there and looked back and it was.

Pls help!
Thank you!

Appears to be an infection. Probably from the fighting. Doesn’t seem to be too bad and will prob heal on its own. If it gets worse consider treating with antibiotic.

Ok thank you, I’ll keep an eye on it, I’ve attached another picture which was taken an hour before the ones attached, can an infection come on this quickly?

Can you get a picture under white light? Is it just the one eye? It looks like a bump, perhaps from being chased. Watch that tail fin closely, you may need to isolate and treat with antibiotics if it becomes infected.

Could just be a scrape, maybe as a result of being chased. Keep an eye so it doesn’t become infected.

ive attached some photos under white light. He’s acting fine and him and the angel are getting on fine now so I’m hoping it was an isolated incident. Will a keep an eye on him and report back if there’s no improvement!

Hi Jay

I’ve got a video of the eye and it looks like you can see behind it? I’m still fairly new to the hobby so I’m stressing out about it, he’s still eating but is acting very timid. Any advice?

Yes, it does look like the outside of the eye has been torn - likely from an injury. Many times, this heals on its own. Watch that tail though!
