Hello,

I have a 3-month-old Fluval flex sea 32.5. Everything was going well, parameter, per API test kit, were all 0ppm (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite). However this last 2 weeks I noticed a growth on my back wall that I have not seen before, and could not find similar images here on this thread. Hopefully, someone can help me identify this "thing". Images of my tank are below:

It almost looks like a hydroid encrusted on your tank. Weird. Never seen anything like it.
Thank you for your reply. I've googled hydroid they seem to be a type of predator, maybe they've come with my live sand? I have tons of small pods all over my tank and substrate, maybe they are a response to that population? Tomorrow I will be doing a water change, and I'm thinking about scrapping this from my wall... However, I'm scared about the consequences of doing so, like spreading all over my aquarium.

If you follow the school of "if in doubt take it out" then you can do this.

a) turn off all circulation
b) get a clean razor blade
c) start a syphon hose into bucket
d) scrap and suck at the same time

Odds are it is harmless, but it won't hurt to remove it.

UPDATE: Just made the manual removal of the weird growth, and a 15% water change. I'm hoping for the best, I'll keep you up to date. Thanks!
