Well this isn’t any new tank build. It going to be about the tanks I have up and running.
a little about me .
I started in the hobby in spring of 72 after being discharged from the Army . I was bored and took a cab to a local pet store in Albuquerque. I never seen a saltwater tank till that day and I was amazed at the beautiful tanks and fish they had. I picked up a tank and everything needed to set one up and a few books. Call a cab and hauled it home and that was the beginning of a life long live for marine fish. Been many tanks since then and at 70 still feel the same about this hobby.
I live in south Louisiana now and have a few tanks running.
the first is my reef, not much happening as far as corals because of the high prices. The tank itself is 28 year old acrylic tank with a 40 gallon breeder tank for sump and Reef octopus Diablo skimmer way oversized for this tank.
I also have a 75 galling seahorse tank and a 36 bow front tank with under gravel filter crushed coral and live rock. Then I have a system set up for raising seahorse fry. I will include photos bid them all.
The first group of photo are the Reeftank.

Sweet. Living in the South, do you need a chiller?
Not really just keep the AC in at about 70, seems to help. I have used a chiller before. But I seem to be able to manage. On the reef with MH. It can hit 81 degrees. Here in the south a generator is a must have.

This last batch I decided not to raise . I would like to have some free time for a trip or two in the fall. It’s was difficult for me, but they take months before they can be ready for new homes. It’s too much to have a person come in and take care of if I was to take a trip.

I’d like to just hang out in the background as you set all this up haha really cool seahorse tank I can tell you know your stuff!
Thanks, it nonstop learning. The more you do the more you figure out something better. Seems like it’s never ending. I’m always trying new things.

These are the older fry, going on two months soon. Trying to switch them onto frozen mysis.

Very interesting! All of your tanks are wonderful.
I hope some day (later, after I have more experience with saltwater and with phytoplankton/copepod/rotifer/artemia/mysis/etc. culturing) to raise dwarf seahorses since I find them so interesting.
Your (Reidi?) seahorses are beautiful!
