Hi all!
Yesterday I noticed my trachyphyllia loosing color on one side and some tissue loss?
Here are my stats:
Alk: 8.6
Ca: 472
Mg: 1323
PO4: .04
NO3: 12
I’ve had it for 2 months now and I’ve fed it maybe 3 times. Not sure if I need to feed more? It’s on the sand bed in a low-moderate flow area. Any advice or suggestions welcomed.

Assure sand is not irritating it. Feed 2-3x per week (mysis shrimp, plankton) and moderate light and water flow

I feed the heck out of my Trachys.

Is it expanding when the lights are on?
It expands randomly. When I try to feed it, it doesn’t really open its mouth or whatever it seems like it doesn’t know how to eat lol

We feed them just after lights go out and feeding tentacles come out ?
So I’ve actually never seen it’s feeding tentacles so I’m a little concern. I’ve had it for months though. It does inflate during the day, here’s a picture.

Sorry ive never had a trachyphylia so cant help you.what i think is trachy/acans and lobos are all very similar but i only have a lobo and only had for 1 week so im as much use as a chocolate fire guard ^_^
I know my lobo feeding tentacles come out after lights out and every 3rd night i get like 3- 4 mysis shrimp cut up and gently squirt them in its mouth and the tentacles grab it.

Based on the pic, it appears to be healthy. Agree with vetteguy on placement.
I wouldn't get too concerned about a feeding response. I have numerous trachys and they all don't extend tentacles on a regular basis. Some do so daily, others 3-4x week at most.
You may want to try some coral feast (not a fan of reef roids...) mixed with marine snow to see if you get a feeding response. I almost always get an immediate feeding response when I do so.
Agree with trying after lights out...
