Looking closer at the picture, it could be hydroids. Do remove them with tweezers. Maybe a sharp blade to scrape the rock. Rinse in some tank waters before adding the goni back into tank.

Little hard to see but looks like hydroids to me.
Do you know of anything that will get rid of them? I’ve read a few threads on here on them.

No, the tips of them look like a type of hydroid. Manual removal is all i can think of to get rid of them.
I hoped it wasn’t. I’ve read through reef2reef about them. Any suggestions?

I hired a coral beauty angelfish to get rid of my hydroids before. I don't know what kind of coral or other fish you have. But, I don't believe angelfish like gonioporas.

If you can remove Frag from tank, scrape off with razor. Dip just the plug in peroxide, rinse in saltwater and return to tank.

I’ve got torches, hammers, zoas, acans, blastos, shrooms, and a couple sps frags. As far as fish: two clowns, canary blenny, and tail-spot wrasse.

If you are going to scrape - remove it from the tank, scrape in a separate container of tank water, rinse in another container of tank water then return to the tank. They have very deep roots and spread spores when you scrape them (kind of the same way aptasia does). Speaking of Aptasia the solution for most of mine that weren't on a removable piece was an aptasia eating filefish. He hasn't bothered any corals and he has helped with the hydroids - also make sure not to let your nitrates and phosphates bottom out - they grow best in ULN systems.

Unfortunately, I am seeing some on the bigger rocks where it’s not feasible to take out and scrub. Others have shared that they’ve had to restart from scratch. If it came down to that, could I place all my coral in a holding tank with the current water and QT them before adding them back once the tank has re-cycled?

I'm not sure what caused folks to restart from hydroids. I was worried - they kept spreading but once I got my nutrients off of 0 and added the filefish mine are minimal and not bothering anyone.
