What’s the coolest/oddest/strangest hitchhiker you’ve ever had?

I’ve always loved the weirdos in the ocean and reef tanks are no different. We do get some strange things in our tanks. The hitchhiker section here is full of goodies. I tend to believe that a majority of them are good and useful. Some bad of course. But please feel free to share pics and stories.

I’m still waiting for a hitchhiking octopus....

I had some uncured Fiji rock back in 2000. One thing that made it through cure was some type of shrimp/crab. I never completely saw it, it lived in a crevice and I would see this single thin claw poke out when I fed the tank.

Just got my base rock from TBS a few days ago. Stuff is awesome. Some are bad, but theres so much random life on it that i couldnt even begin to tell you what half of it is! My favorite is seeing all the different filter feeders extend out from their tubes/barnacles/ whatever else they made their homes in. So much more interesting to me than dry rock. Curious to see what gets brought in on round 2!

A rather large euphyllia eating flatworm. This sucker was the size of my fist!Nearly 6 inches long and 3 inches wide. I get up early for work and I have to walk past my tank. One morning rather sleepily I walked past the tank and thought, "man that's odd, why do I have a huge pile of salt creep?". Well it wasn't salt creep, but this rather large FW.

I’ve seen some rather large polyclads but nothing like that. Wow. I guess it went straight down the toilet?

It was tough to get out of the tank actually. Tried a pair of long tweezer to only have it fall apart. It was like a large snot ball when picked up.
