Small space: No less than 55 gallons

Medium space: No less than 75 gallons

Large space: No less than 180 gallons

Mansion: Up to 350 gallons

At minimum I would want enough to keep a Clownfish pair, a pair of Centropyge, a pair of smaller damsels, and a couple other smaller fish.

33 long I had was really nice

I'd also consider one those 12g long ones, they are just sexy.

I ran a 5g for almost 6 months. I recently upgraded that to a 20g. I'm currently running a 40g and a 20g. Small tanks = small water changes. I'm good with that, lol.

If I started over....the same size I have now 29 gallon in a wall with similar sump. I could go smaller in that space with a 20 gallon which would give more side room for pump placements. The 29 is a tight fit now.

It would be SPS dominant since I haven't focused on that realm.

The smallest I’d do is probably 2 gallons. I’ve had tanks from 5 gallons to 200 over the years, and right now I only have a 28 gallon Nanocube. I would still probably have a larger tank if I didn’t have health issues and could keep up with the maintenance. I think if I get my health sorted out, I’ll probably set up a larger tank (I would like maybe a 180-220g cube). I’m currently thinking about setting up a 10-20g frag tank, but I’m not 100% on the idea yet.

After keeping a variety of sizes (16, 29, 40, 50, 55, 120) there is no way I would go smaller than 75 for my main display. Ability to keep multiple tangs is the reasoning behind that.

I am in the process of setting up a couple 2g picos though but I like fish too much to have just that as my only tank.

If I could start over, I'd definitely go with a minimum of 75 gallons. Have a 30 gallon right now and I hate the fish limitations and how you quickly run out of space for corals.

I had a slant-nose 7-gallon AIO once. It was fun. (actually there were two, one on each side of the fireplace, on bookshelves.)

Smallest? 20 gallon. I have a IM 20 drop off that has a pair of black storm clown fish and two Chicago sunburst anemones in it. It's one of my favorite tanks and I have a 210, 85 and 55 gallon in the house.
