My leather has been closed up for about a day. This morning I found this on one of the heads.

What is this? A hydroid? Whatever it is it doesn’t look particularly friendly....
How should I go about removing it?

Could be a syllid worm- i believe they eat the host coral. No idea how to remove it- maybe somebody else can help with that
Maybe, though I don't really see much that is "worm-like" about them. They seem more like tiny hair-like protrusions, with ball-shaped appendages (hard to capture in a photograph).

I'm going to guess.....and it is a guess.....some type of hydroid. Maybe Halopteris diaphana or Zanclea

It just opened so doesn’t seem too bugged by the hydroids. I definitely want to get rid of them though before they move to other places...
