Hello all,
I’m not sure what’s wrong with my condylactis anemone... It’s been doing great these past few months. It’s been eating and my clownfish loved it, but last night it started acting odd. I know that sometimes the anemones deflate at certain times (like before lights out) and I know anemones also expel zooxanthellae sometimes. Well, this is different. I hope it’s not dying.. it’s been doing amazing, but I’m starting to worry.
Last night, as I was shutting the lights off, I noticed it had detached from the rock and was laying on its side. It looked very white. I didn’t know what was wrong with it. There’s nothing wrong with my water, at all. I figured I would check it in the morning and see how it was doing.
This morning, I checked on it, and it had moved. (I’m guessing from the powerheads blowing it) I moved it to a better area, and I noticed its tentacles (they’re almost nonexistent) had no “stick” or “sting” to them, which really made me worry more. I couldn’t do much with it, as I had to leave the house.
I just arrived home a little bit ago, and I noticed it looked a little worse... The anemone looks like its insides are coming out of its mouth? I don’t know how to describe it. It looks bad.. I read some things online, and people have said it’s dying or it is already dead. It doesn’t have a smell, I have checked. My water is perfectly fine. The temperature is fine. I have had the lights on since 7:00 this morning. I just don’t know what happened to it or what it is doing. I’m extremely worried and kind of panicking.
Does anyone know what’s happening? Is it a goner?
