Let me know it goes goes for you! I'm 99% sure I'm changing out my orphek atlantik for an 8x39 watt T5 fixture by the end of the year on my 75. Even if you any pros and cons along the way and acclimation, keep me posted.

Give it some time. They will likely look a lot different in a month or two.

I also think that Homewrecker looks better under 14k spectrum... so I am crazy too. There are a lot of Tenuis that need trick lighting, but HW is not one of them. Sexy Corals Orange Passion also looks great under any lighting.
YES! I finally found someone who agrees with me! Be crazy with me :p

I have an ATI Sunpower with Reefbrite XHO Actinic strip. I don't have any issue with acro colors. Here's a few of them with the Reefbrite turned off for pics:

I'm able to grow acros on the sand bed as well. I've considered switching to LEDs many times over the years but only because of the expense of changing out the bulbs.

I think the T5s should work just fine, it is very popular to add some led supplementation though

I'm planning on running all Blue+ and then 3-4 Kessil A360x to tune in the color and give shimmer. It helps get rid of that motionless flat look of T5. This is a T5/Kessil combo tank...

Have you thought about adding a LED bar and run all Blue+? The trick is it has to be something that can push through the T5 to actually make an impact.

Yes, I have seen that video a couple of times. Simply amazing reef!

If everything runs smooth with the transition then I am thinking of adding a Reefbrite XHO for some POP.

Wouldnt it be better to keep the whiter look T5 and add actinic LED?

I would agree with this, you can then program how much blue you want at different times of day

Will do! From everyone, I have talked to with proven results swear by the growth, health, and coloration of T5's as your backbone for lighting. Hoping for the best! Will keep you updated.

Thank you! It appears healthier to me if that makes sense. I was getting the same PAR near the top of the rocks with the black boxes but my blues were at 30% and whites were at 20%. This caused high PAR at the top and a huge drop off near the bottom. This created a dark looking tank even with the higher PAR.

The T5's give off this bright light at the same PAR. To me, it just looks brighter and more Vibrant.

Skinny Love unedited under 14k MH. Great piece and great color...

Looks great! I picked up a piece of this a couple of months ago. It is near the bottom and hasn't really done much. Hoping it does something now with the T5's.

I noticed this as well. My WD looks about the same but I have a couple of other Tenuis that look nothing like they did under the LED's. Hope they just need to get used to the T5's and not that they are turds under different lighting.

Some tenuis dont look great under whites, but when you color and grow them under full spectrum and show them off under blues, some can look really nice.

I would switch one of your coral+ for another blue+ and maybe even another one for a purple+. Really it depends on your preference but 50/50 C/B is really quite white. I would buy two more blues and a purple and experiment.

Pink Lemonade is such an awesome coral

I actually ordered 4 other bulbs yesterday to experiment. I ordered another blue+, aquablue special, a true actinic, and a purple +.

I don't mind the 50/50 mix at all. Just need to get used to them.. Reminds me of my halide and VHO days in the early 00's.

Your corals will color up wonderfully under these lights. They just need time to adjust. Plenty of tanks on here with those lights and fabulous colors. You can switch to 75% Blue+/25% Coral Plus if you want a bluer look. Or add in a few actinics. Either way the acros will look great down the road. Any addition of actinic/blue T5 or LED's is more for the lps and softies to fluoresce.
