I found these guys basically everywhere in my tank. It is really hard to tell whether they might be causing damage to my acros as most of my frags are very new in a relatively young tank, so they aren’t yet thriving anyway. These critters seem to be bumbling around the base of my corals but not necessarily on the corals. I tried to put one under a microscope but it was too dark to make out. They appear round with green to dark brown in coloration. I thought they were red bugs at first and I was about to treat with interceptor but If they are a type of pod maybe it would be time to finally get a wrasse in the tank. Maybe ostracods? This pic and video(if I can get it to upload) is in a regular frag size Dixie cup. AB9BCC59-E976-4E1E-8B0C-C017440F1ED1.jpeg

Yes they’re bodies are very hard. Almost crunchy when I poked at one.

Like I know they are the larvae for of bigger pod, but don't remember the name of it. I know them, and they are really hard, you need metal tweezers to smash them, can't with fingers usually.

Thanks everyone. I was about to nuke the tank with interceptor. From what I’ve read ostracods aren’t necessarily a bad thing. Just additional cuc.

don't worry about. As advice only, try to DIP everything you introduce in your tank, observe properly, f need with magnifier, and the best is to have quarantine tank where you can observe for a bit longer and to clear most if no all pests.
