I’ve been trying to get some input on the current USA marine orbit led light

There is 3 different versions of them atm
The regular
The ic
The ic pro
I currently have the regular on a 10 gallon tank about 2 inches off the surface how much power is this thing really

That is a fellow reefers Nano tank, his Oregon Blue tort and green slimer colony are amazing under current orbits but they are literally right under the light as you can see

We’ll eventually i wanna use it on a 32 bio cube which is 21x21x21
I think you would need the pro for a tank that deep. The IC would probably be fine for a 15" deep tank.

I think they are sufficient for lps and softies, sps need to be near the top imo.

I currently have one standard orbit think if i add an IC which is alittle stronger and run both at the same time on a 30 gallon cube it’ll be decent or should i just get a prime HD

I had the regular on an old bc 29. I grew montis and the hardy sticks with good color and pe but I’d keep them up top.

So adding an ic model “ loop “ having the regular and the ic together in 32 bio cube should be decent?

A prime will light about an 18x18 you will have some dynamic light fall off on each side, it can be done if arranged properly and might make an interesting scape, with the contrast of the center vs the sides.

Hello,

It depends on which orbit your going with, for your answer. I run two of the orbit marine pros (60 degree lens) on my 240 and I can grow anything. I even have a Maximus clam almost on the bottom of my tank and it is 34 tall. I tried to add three lights and it was extreme over kill.

If your running the current ic 90 degree lens you will need two of them and I would not suggest you try a clam with those. If you find the critical angel of them you will have better luck. Here are some pics with my tank using orbit marine pros atm, and it’s only 9 months old.

Yah i think running ic pro on a 32 cube would be plently. But they cost like 300-400$ alittle out of my price range

Hello,

I think the pro which is just two of the ic lights is the 400 one but even the smaller ones are like 299 for the pro version which is really good. The ones I have which you can find but hard are normally 800 each, and they have all the control you want. Currents customer service is totally amazing, and even if your light breaks after it’s no longer made they auto upgrade you to the next light equal or better. I have found them on amazon and eBay for less than 400 for 2. There is an actual ic package that includes the light hubs and wave maker for under 400, which are still the lights your looking for. With it being a strip light and 90 degree lens, you will have much better coverage than a puck style light such as the hydra or Ecotech etc.

Sincerely
Sarah
