Should the color of your aquarium stand matter? Well I'm not too sure! I have some reasons that I think we should care about the color of our stands but today I would like to hear from you as to why or why not you think it's important and what color you went with!

1. What color is your aquarium stand and why did you choose that color?

2. Do you think the color of your aquarium stand is important? Why or why not?

For me idk something about having a white stand does it for me. Cleaner look that just fits in

This is my current now but working on my next build in search of a good metal stand wrapping.

For me, it depends on what room it goes in - Living room tanks IMHO look better if the stand matches it’s surrounding colour/main wood type. If it’s in an office then I don’t find it to matter as much. I’ll grab a photo of my “big” main display’s stand (It sits in the living room so everyone sees it at some point, usually it’s the first thing people question).

As promised, here’s a photo of my current reef tank that has a proper stand:

It has both a darker grey to match the grey part of the room and an ash oak look to match the rest of the wooden parts in the room.

It depends on where the tank is, but I generally think it is.
Obviously in a fish room dedicated to only tanks, overall furniture aspect isn’t the first thought, but if the tank is part of a room in the house, it’s gotta fit in and look good.
Each of my fish tank stands match the rest of the room, and it just works well.
I don’t have any pics at the moment, but since all my big tanks are in very visible areas of the house, they match the furniture of said room (oak wood, dark wood x2, cherry wood).

It's a piece of furniture and should blend in with your decor

80/20 aluminum with door panel inserts that closely match the kitchen counter that's just out of the picture. Went with 80/20 because it's easy to assemble and I knew I could get a better result than building it out of wood. Important if the wife cares what it looks like.

1. My current 75-gallon FOWLR is on a black stand because that is what it came with from my co-worker.

2. Since it is basically a piece of furniture, I think the color/design matters more in junction with the room furniture and décor. I am partial to black, wood-trim, and white personally.

Black

I don’t think it’s important for reef keeping but as mentioned above, if it’s in a public area it can increase or decrease the attractiveness of the tank itself! Which is a big part of reef keeping IMO.

1. What color is your aquarium stand and why did you choose that color?
Black. Because there wasn't anything darker. ;)

2. Do you think the color of your aquarium stand is important? Why or why not?

Yes. I like the stand to sort of be unobtrusive. If the lights in the room are low, I want the tank to take center stage, and a black stand just sort of disappears and doesn't draw the viewer's eye at all..
