Correct ratios of Calcium, alkalinity and magnesium along with the right spectrum and par of lighting and it will take off.

I have these levels calcium 420, DKH 9, and Magnesium 1320, it has been this way for about two weeks and I haven't seen much change in the reef tank.

What kind of spectrum does coralline algae need. I will post a picture of my reef tank, can someone tell me if the spectrum looks right?

I have a par of about 150 In the middle of the tank. I found this chart on the internet for corals what par levels do you think coralline algae to grow?

How Much Light?
Different Corals Need Different Light
Corals Par Value
Low Light Mushrooms, Zooanthids, 50-100
Soft Corals

Medium Light LPS, Clams, Some SPS 100- 200

High Light Acropora, Montipora, SPS 200- 500

More of the bluer spectrum helps. Also, if you have a friend that has it in their tank you can seed your tank with some flakes from their system.

I have put some in there. Do you know if it is possible for coralline algae to grow without putting it in the tank?

It has to be introduced to the tank somehow, whether it come in on a frag plug, or a snail or invert, or on live rock.

I rarely tested anything in the past and always had tons of coralline. Usually about the 6 month mark it took off like a bandit.

The key is deep blue and purple light along with a seed rock or scrapings IME.
