Really had they show up on another rock two feet away.
That’s a very uncommon experience. Perhaps it happened because a turbo snail or urchin sheared some polyps off and they were able to establish themselves where they ended up do to flow. I don’t think that is a common occurrence.

Well had no urchin or turbo snails. I am not the only one I know that had zoas show up other rocks. I have also read where other people ask how to get rid of some that have found other rocks in their tank. Once they overgrow the island they still grow so I assume they find other places floating in the tank..

I didn't want them because of the toxins I had read about. But I did want them for some of the colors. I spoke to a few people in the hobby and figured I'd try.... well, my ruby crab thought they were a great snack... so won't be adding more. If the few left can survive and grow I'll be happy though.

Love’em but def see some strains taking over parts of the garden. Def adds a nice touch having a few varieties with contrasting colors

I use to be such a sucker for Zoa's! Their peak to fame was about when I started the hobby, and it baffled my mind trying to remember every name and try to identify all the color morphs and renaming and ahhhhhhh!

I'm happy that it's settled down to a degree and things are definitely more "reasonable" as far as pricing goes.

There is just something awesome about a zoa garden though! So many colors and so low maintenance makes them awesome! Even in my new Acro dominant tank I put a small zoa island rock for that color pop.

Love em or hate em, everyone's had them lol

What's not to love about a low maintenance, hardy coral that looks great, grows quickly, and loves bad husbandry
