It'll grow, to what extent and difference from high flow is probably going to be negligible for a montipora cap. Just my thoughts.

when you say "cap" do you mean like a plating monti?

High flow will encourage plating monti to grow like a cup or bowl shape, low flow will make it grow like a plate. If you mean a branching monti, high flow makes thicker branches, low flow make thinner branches.

Monti caps are pretty forgiving. Ime faster growth in higher light.

Algae can form on them. Moderate light and water flow is all they ask

“Monti Cap” is montipora capricornis. It’s the plating type you are referring to.

So low flow causes it to plate while high flow makes it scroll?
Not that I have noticed. It’s more about time and size. Initially they tend to “plate” out. Then as they grow larger they will grow extra plates vertically which tend to look like scrolls or vases.

So as long as it has a tiny bit of flow it should be fine right? Just don't let detritus settle on it

Yes. When you say “high light” how much are you talking. If there’s not much flow you don’t want too much light. They do need some flow so they can exchange things with the water to survive. Too much light and not enough flow would be bad.

I have a radion xr30 pro on 80% and it's halfway in the middle of the tank. Ignore the glue i want it to encrust it

This is crazy...
I once got a frag from a friend and the cap just bleached and I thought it has died.
Then I placed it somewhere in my tank as algae began to grow on that dead skeletton...
Not, after a few weeks there is ONE little like maybe 1cm big corner from that frag which starts to grow.
The dead skeletton I placed on the sandbed and put some GSP on it as "rock" to grow on for the GSP.

Like I said, theres almost no light and it still starts to grow to the air
