What happens if you use the low range phosphate for high range water

I know it may seem Dumb but what happens if I use a hanna checker for low range phosphate but my phosphate is above that range

I don’t think anything will happen. The instrument will probably just say 2.50 and that’s it. However, if your phosphates are that high in a reef tank, you probably have significant algae issues.
