What has been your single biggest "haul" from a sale event or reef show?

How many corals have you purchased in a single sale or reef event?

  • 1-4 frags is the most I've bought at once. (If this is you, you probably just got into the hobby...)

  • 5-8 corals in a single take. (Ok. You show major restraint.)

    Votes: 115 31.8%
  • 9-15 corals was my biggest haul. (A worthwhile take for sure.)

    Votes: 86 23.8%
  • 16-20 corals... (NICE HAUL! You definitely got carried away!)

  • 21-29 corals in a single event. (BOOM!! You know how to party!)

  • 30+ corals in a single haul... (Ummm...you probably had some 'splaining to do...)

Most of us know that when it comes to coral, you can never have "enough." We're all in search of great deals, and so when we find great sale events like we find often in live sales, seasonal sales, or reef shows like Reef-A-Palooza, we sometimes...maybe...kinda buy more than we originally planned to. I know I sometimes get carried away (and you know what? I've never actually regretted it!) and buy more than I had planned. No doubt about it! These big hauls are some of my favorite things in the hobby! I become like a kid at Christmas waiting for that package to arrive!

So, today's QOTD is: What has been your single biggest "haul" from a sale event or reef show?

Also, what kinds of sales or reef events get you most excited?

Here's my haul from the recent @TCK Corals flash sale (that is unless I end up buying more in their Aftersale that's going on now). It's not my biggest haul ever, but I'm definitely super excited to get this box!

Great looking corals @Daniel@R2R!

My eyes are always bigger than my stomach When it comes to these sales/reef shows!

Im going to have to keep working forever to keep up with my bad coral habit!

I've only participated in 1 live sale and I bought almost 20 corals, but they were all cheap so I only spent a few hundred dollars. I've also bought from another member on here and also bought around 20 corals. Unfortunately I've never had the pleasure of going to a Reef Show, although I'd love to. As my tank fills up I find myself going toward lower numbers of more expensive corals, instead of large amounts of cheap corals.

I've been in the hobby since the late 90's and I'm sure my biggest haul is 5-8. I like pricy corals, and I also like to observe new corals really closely for the first month or so and if I buy too many at once I find that one or more gets ignored. For that reason I tend to buy 1-4 at a time, but do it monthly.

This is my latest haul (it will be here tomorrow). Plus a favia they threw in instead of refunding my added up $1 shipping fees.

I got 10 plus two freebies last week (POTO).

And 8 plus a freebie from a Labor Day sale (AquaSD). Oh, and I have a torch coming from them tomorrow. ;Facepalm

I'm pretty sure this is a cry for help.

1-4. They just don't have what I want that would cause me to max the credit card. I can't stand being in company of 4+ people, very difficult to explain, social anxiety I guess. So, events are off. I do buy online.

Does that mean you aren't going to RAP Chicago? :(

Not a cry for help - just a great way to enhance your aquarium!

Haven't bought a frag for our tank in a long time. But the biggest haul was 57 pieces. My wife was on one MacBook pro and I was on the other. Every few live sales we do this to restock different things in the frag tank.
