What has been your single biggest "haul" from a sale event or reef show?

How many corals have you purchased in a single sale or reef event?

  • 1-4 frags is the most I've bought at once. (If this is you, you probably just got into the hobby...)

    Votes: 88 24.3%
  • 5-8 corals in a single take. (Ok. You show major restraint.)

    Votes: 115 31.8%
  • 9-15 corals was my biggest haul. (A worthwhile take for sure.)

    Votes: 86 23.8%
  • 16-20 corals... (NICE HAUL! You definitely got carried away!)

    Votes: 42 11.6%
  • 21-29 corals in a single event. (BOOM!! You know how to party!)

    Votes: 19 5.2%
  • 30+ corals in a single haul... (Ummm...you probably had some 'splaining to do...)

Not a cry for help - just a great way to enhance your aquarium!
If there is one thing I love about reef keeping, it's not the amount of corals. It's letting them fill in the blanks. Finding them a spot and let them take over.

It's like fish keeping, you have 1000 corals or 1000fish, how does one actually enjoy that?

The biggest lot i had bought was 12 pieces right after I setup my tank 2 years ago.
Spent $200 during Coral Farmers Market Event 2 weeks ago. Great deal! Saving more $ moo-la for the next event in January 2022.

I can't get into live sales. you got to buy it in a hurry before you come to your senses and that just doesn't fit my purchasing style.
Never had an opportunity to attend a reef show or anything of the sorts.

Quite true. I still have 6 more precious spots to fill with SPS in my Waterbox 20. So I only choose the sps I really like. Room limited!

I only get 1-4 when the deals come rolling out. I normally get one of the more expensive corals I’ve been wanting, from the event. That way I can justify the price tag without paying an arm, leg and kidney. I’ve given far less to a garage seller and hit that 10-15 mark.

Every time I order from @Battlecorals and delay shipping, I end up adding more corals to my order as the weeks go by..... Looks like I may need to ask Adam about adding an Aquatic-Man for my next shipment :p

i keep my game plan general for live or not live sales---corals get scooped up quick by others so I'm flexible with my game plan which is great since there will be corals that pop-up that I may not have been thinking about--and that's a bonus.

the most is around 15 but i do average what i voted at, that is, 5-8 corals

Most of us know that when it comes to coral, you can never have "enough." We're all in search of great deals, and so when we find great sale events like we find often in live sales, seasonal sales, or reef shows like Reef-A-Palooza, we sometimes...maybe...kinda buy more than we originally planned to. I know I sometimes get carried away (and you know what? I've never actually regretted it!) and buy more than I had planned. No doubt about it! These big hauls are some of my favorite things in the hobby! I become like a kid at Christmas waiting for that package to arrive!

So, today's QOTD is: What has been your single biggest "haul" from a sale event or reef show?

Also, what kinds of sales or reef events get you most excited?

Here's my haul from the recent @TCK Corals flash sale (that is unless I end up buying more in their Aftersale that's going on now). It's not my biggest haul ever, but I'm definitely super excited to get this box!

This is my latest haul (it will be here tomorrow). Plus a favia they threw in instead of refunding my added up $1 shipping fees.

I got 10 plus two freebies last week (POTO).

And 8 plus a freebie from a Labor Day sale (AquaSD). Oh, and I have a torch coming from them tomorrow. ;Facepalm

I'm pretty sure this is a cry for help.
what is the 2nd one on the bottom? like miami dolphin colors?

Hey there. Come visit us in our booth and say hi next show. Hopefully We can bring nice sps by then since our grow out tank crashed last June
"Islander Corals"

Biggest haul was 37 sps frags. Though it was not a sale or event but same day different vendor

Sure do. Not sure whether I bought those sps from you? I paid too much attention on selecting coral and forgot who the seller was. But I did get a good discount and deal. lol
