One of my wave makers disengaged from my glass and blew a divot in the sand bed. These alien-looking things are in the sand. What are they? Are they undesirable, iff they are, how do I get rid of them?

Picture of sand bed divot and closeup of whatever they are.

Thanks!

Agree with @duberii Looks like you have some cyano covering the tubes as well.
I do. I have a small case of cyano beginning to crop up. we're due for a water change and I'll get rid of it then.

Do either one of you know if the brown slime-looking stuff is from the spionid worms? Or what it is and how to get rid of it? One thing never happens in a vacuum - there's always two or three things

That looks like cyano that got caught up on the tubes.
