Hi All,

As the title suggests, what HOB skimmer would you recommend for a 24gal nano?

Its not an all in one and doesn't have a sump, so preferably would blend as well as possible. I was considering a bubble magus qq1, but have read mixed reviews.

Thanks

Reef Octopus has some solid HOB skimmers to consider. Good luck with whatever you choose!

Tunze 9001 DC. It is an intank skimmer but it blends in as if it were an overflow. It’s rated for 5-37 gallons. I use one in my 10 gallon.

I was looking for a HOB skimmer to my 20 gallon (non sump). Saw this post and would like to clarify that you're running your 9001 in your tank, correct? so it would be just like my heater? (I'm new here so sorry if it seems like a dumb question) Just trying to set up the best tank for my corals and fish. Thanks in advance!

Yes, the whole skimmer physically sits inside the tank. Some people say it takes up too much room but mine being in a standard 10g tank I personally don’t believe it’s too big.

Here’s what it looks like, it’s in the back left corner. Older pic and yes the sand and rocks are cleaned up now.

I recently upgraded from a 10 gallon aquarium to a 29 gallon. I have always used Marineland filters and been happy with them and their quality. After lots of research and advice from aquarium experts, I decided to purchase the Marineland 350.
