I've seen a couple of newer systems talking about ORP measurements. I really don't know what its measuring and if or why it might be important. Does it replace any of the more traditional water parameter measurements?

Does not replace any other tests you would do. Stands for your tanks oxidation/reduction potential. Or more plainly how much of things like oxygen you have for things like nitrate.

Randy has an article if you search for it that explains in detail.

But is most useful for those running ozone.

I got a probe just to see, cause my apex had a input. My ORP goes from 400 at low point to 450 at the high point. Might be useful for something. I duno, even after reading Randy article.

I had both a meter and probe, and just stopped using them as the years went by since I never did anything useful as a result of seeing the values. :D

Thanks Randy - in real life I'm a Metrologist, and I really hate taking non-useful measurements. Sounds like the ORP probe in this hobby might be one of those.
