Noticed this on my new favia (favites?). Thought at first it was just some detritus but it didn't blow off with the turkey baster and it's definitely getting bigger. Thank you!

Personally, (assuming it is a thecate hydroid species) I'd say if you like the looks of it and it's not bothering anything, then just keep an eye on it. With that in mind - and given that the coral seems fine (which to me would seem to indicate a relatively mild sting) - my main concern would just be how fast it reproduces. So, if you see new ones popping up in your tank, you may want to pull them just to prevent an infestation - otherwise it looks like it should be pretty harmless.
