What is the easiest coral to keep in a relatively new reef tank (post cycle of course)

I would avoid any euphyllia at the moment, they are too pricey to risk losing in a new tank. That being said, I agree with the others. Mushrooms, leathers, zoas for softies. If your other parameters are STABLE you could go with a monti cap or possibly a birdsnest for an SPS. Fairly cheap and decent growers that are tolerable.

GSP, cheap palys, and ricordea mushrooms.


I havent strayed too far into difficult corals in 15 years

Colt coral
Toadstool

have had success with
Don’t get hammers in a new tank - that’s never a good idea. New tanks are just too unstable.

Thank you everyone for the replies, I really like the look of those pulsing xenias!!
I really like mine. You need to keep it on it's own stand alone rock. Pieces break off and float to a new location to reproduce also.
