Pineatus batfish I once had one that I raised from 2-3” to about 12”. Current tank is too small and haven’t seen one for sale in years. Orange spot file fish, I have a mixed reef tank so file fish is out.

I would love to have a mandarin. Although my tank is well established, it's only a 56g display with a 30g sump, which is not really enough if I can't get the Mandy to eat prepared food.
We have a mandarin fish for years in our tank. I grew out brine shrimp. Put them constantly in the tank, and before you knew it, they were breeding in the tank. Now we have a very healthy fat mandarin fish. The brine eats fish food or phytoplankton feed to the tank, so they seem nutritious to me.

I had a mandarin in an established 55g and she had an all you can eat buffet. The caveat to that is I did let my tank run fallow for 2 months due to ich. During that time, the pods all went nuts and exploded in growth to the point they were crawling all over the sand during the day time. It looked like the stuff of nightmares lol

if i sat on santa’s lap and was good, i would ask for multiple parrot fish and expensive stick colonies, crown of thorns sea-star, mixed with a school of Japanese Borbonius Anthias and a lion-fish, blue spot octopus and i wish they would all get along…
