Plastic protective cover for fluorecent tubes. I use it to target feed. As long as the food sinks, it works.

Some people find life hacks through out daily life, but in the hobby there are many day to day items us reefers somehow are able to utilize within this hobby of ours! So... the question at hand tonight is what is your favorite non-reefing related tool that helps you out through out your day to day activities in this hobby?

Mine? The common toothbrush. So useful to get into tiny places for algae cleaning, frag plug beautification, and overall can be a fairly handle glass cleaner.

Now lets hear it from you all! What is yours?

Zip Ties!
All of my wiring and dosing hoses are bundled into a harness, similar to a cars wiring harness. If I have to remove a pump (or whatever) for cleaning or service, I just clip the Zip Ties and then replace them.

Oh! We also have Tarantulas!

Turkey baster, toothbrushes, plastic measuring cups and spoons, and knee high nylons, zip ties, syringes, towels and long forceps. And lots of 5 gallon buckets!

I zip tie the nylons on the end of the siphoning tube to catch the algae and crud so I can dumb the water back into the tank.

Definitely the turkey baster. I have a few of them and I find myself using them multiple times a day for various things. Keeping SPS, I don't know what else I would do to blow off the random stringy piece of stuff that gets wrapped around a branch. The turkey baster is a MUST HAVE!!

Have three things:
-Driveway marker and old credit card; makes for a nice little scraper for the little and hard to reach stuff that can't be reached by larger sized scrapers.
-Dental tool; awesome for removing/prying frags from plugs.
-chop stick; great for pushing/shaping 'fresh" super glue skin around after gluing a frag.
