Hi guys,
I was wondering what the ph of the 3a&b was.

since converting to CORE7, my ph has now dropped to a range of 8.01 to 8.08.
previously I averaged a range of 8.35 to 8.44 when I was on my Kalkwasser and Seachem products.

nothing has changed in my setup apart from:
1-CORE7
2-UV C steriliser.

I even now have a skimmer with the air inlet from outside the house.
Room parameters are the same.

this is puzzling me.

should I add my kalk stirrer back on line? If I have to I don’t see the point of staying on Triton.

tank is about 250g total volume and runs on 2 ATS each running for 12 hours.

Last test readings below:
Aquarium Water Testing 31 January 2021
*Sent off ICP test
Salinity-35.5 @11:20
PH-8.08 @11:21
dKH-8.6 @11:29
Mag-1410
Ca-512
NO3-0
P0-0.14 @11:32

thanks

Dx

Edit:
Just to add that I did take 3 months to migrate to Triton. First I used Triton other method but my ATS suffered in the first month or so.
On CORE 7 fully from January 2021.

Seems a little early to tell doesn’t it? It’s only been 30 days On core 7 and after 3 months of changes. I’d want the experiment to run longer if it was me.

Thanks for the response.

Early days?
Not much difference between CORE 7 and Other methods, apart from the fact CORE7 has more stuff for macro algae.
The transition was just a gradual reduction of Kalk.
so in total really 3 months or so of Triton.

I would say Full triton 30 days true, but still does not answer my query of why the low ph.

I have since read that Triton "naturally" settles at 8.02-8.08.

If that is the case then what did people do to increase their ph?

@Tim@Triton can you suggest any measures i can take or is this normal for Triton.

The UV can throw off probe readings. I had to reroute my wiring because my readings jumped when the UV was switched on/off. It's easy enough to check and eliminate.

PS: your low pH is about as high as I've been able to struggle to achieve.

I have no controller and I use the Hanna handheld ph probe. UV has its own return pump from sump to DT.
Ph tested in the sump.

i always thought the UV improved ORP. My water is crystal clear now and I have noticed macro algae on my ATS have nearly doubled.

The ph drop is just puzzling
