Hello!

I have this growing on pumps, rocks. It has little feathers on its tip, but it is not a feather duster.

Thanks for your thoughts!

It's more of a.. mm.. hard to explain. It's white/brown. And more stringy. Like a mini bonsai tree, and it has a feather on its tip. I'm sure it's not an algae, but something else.

It’s okay. I wonder if I can keep my SPS and transfer them to the rebooted tank, or will they carry these over?

I've never had any hydroids in my tanks, so I can't help.
Sorry.
Hopefully other RS members will show up soon.

Here is a thread that lists a few methods and products that helped people deal with these. I have also heard of using boiling hot water in a syringe and targeting them but that is only if you have a small patch.

I've found a video on youtube where a hermit is eating it.. Not sure which type of hermit that is though..

But, I was already considering restarting this tank, so maybe this is the sign I should go ahead.

Since it's on the pump, I will just take it out and run it in bleach solution for a while, then rinse it well and run it in freshwater with seacheme prime to really dechlorinate it, then out it back.

Unfortunatelly it’s on the rocks as well:( it’s only that it was easier to snap a picture with my potato camera of the pump:/
