** dragon! sorry lol.

I've got these critters booming in my Montipora tank. Does anyone know what they are? I thought they were brisstle worms, but now I doubt it. They seem to stay small, poop everywhere, and hang out on my monti plugs. I'm assuming they aren't the worst but I have no idea.

Based on the head I'm going to say it's probably not a bristle worm, but +1 for a dorvillidae. I'd consider getting rid of it. Bristle worms can be a good part of a CUC.

when full grown they can kill small fish

A regular bristle worm doesn’t kill fish. A fireworm I would remove but bristleworms are great CUC.

Size: to 8 in. Considered a beneficial hitchhiker. Is not a fireworm. The common Bristle worm is a detritivore, only eats detritus. Excellent at stirring the sand-bed and keeping your tank clean. Will not go after fish or corals.

Indo pacific sea farms sell them… although idk why anyone would buy them as they are so common free hitchikers.

If they are selling bristle worms for $20 then I'm sitting on a gold mine...or at least was before my melanurus wrasse starting eating them. It used to be at night and anytime I'd feed reef roids, bristle worms would come out of everywhere. It was kind of alarming to watch honestly.
