Hi all-

what is causing this? The piece has been doing this for like 2 weeks or more now. Doesn’t seem to be bothered or stressed. My parameters are spot on, so what is this thing doing?? Lol!!

Can you elaborate on the parameters? How long have you had it before it showed these signs?

I looks like a typical response for a favia in low flow (which is what they like). They get fluffy and may want some food. Also, looks like it is reproducing by dropping on the back there. Unless that back part is brown and gooey. They may be infection. Cannot tell in blues.

Alk is that number that some sps users have found more growth in keeping high. Many people keep above reef level and many keep at reef level. You just do not want it swinging! That will cause problems.

Thanks for the response. I do feed it often with reef roids and oyster feast. Water flow should be good, and I do think it is reproducing, the back is not brown and gooey at all. I know it’s growing, just can’t seem to understand the behavior of it blowing a bubble like that.

Thanks! I keep it around 11 and 12 pretty consistently.

I had one do this. Most of mine do not. not sure why certain ones do it or why. All still fine on my end though after years.
Yeah, it’s doing great otherwise, actually growing which is great obviously! Lol. Just confusing. Appreciate the words.
