Take a look at the sticky at the top of the fish disease section (or the link below my name here). Please answer as many of the questions as you can.I’ve got two fish I’m concerned about. A hippo tang I can’t get a good picture of, and this carpenter wrase.
Understood. I’ve been researching for a while, looking at a bunch of pictures. It’s really hard to diagnose. I can’t get great pictures. Finally got an “ok” pic of my hippo tang. Note that the problem towards the front are dark spots, almost like freckles. And then the tail has white patches. Any thoughts?Take a look at the sticky at the top of the fish disease section (or the link below my name here). Please answer as many of the questions as you can.

Just spent a little over an hour with white lights and couldn’t get a picture any clearer than the one above. The picture above is really a good representative of what the hippo tang looks like. Dark freckles towards the front and white discoloration on the back. It is trying to scratch itself on the rocks.Ah, sorry - as it says in the sticky, photos taken under blue light are almost worthless for diagnostics - even taken under white light, it's tough to see things clearly.
Looks like your hepatus tang could have HLLE.
Without good background information, we really can't give you any direction.

I just found a pic that is almost an exact mirror of what I’m dealing with. Does anyone have a diagnosis on this?
