Today I noticed in a few spots these curly little shell looking creatures. So far the one I have been watching clearly has not moved off the glass. I just noticed this one on one trochus snail. What is it?

Today I noticed in a few spots these curly little shell looking creatures. So far the one I have been watching clearly has not moved off the glass. I just noticed this one on one trochus snail. What is it?

I’m no expert but from what I have read it’s another type of snail. If that makes any sense

Spirorbid snail/worm. They'll be all over glass and rock in low flow areas. They're harmless filter feeders.

I always thought they were a lot bigger. At least the ones I have seen were.

They can be. I have ones that range in size. Smaller ones likely just newer
