Good afternoon. I’m sure this is an easy one, but I cannot find a picture like this? This patch has been growing in this same spot for months. It never really changes and nothing eats it. Any help identifying would be appreciated. Thank you.

Appears to be turf algae. Manually remove.

Thank you. That makes sense. Looks like grass. If mechanically removing, any danger in letting it float? Will that cause it to spread? Thanks.
