Help! I am 15 years old and I am really worried about my puffer. I recently posted a thread about my puffer hiding and I think I know the reason why! I think he has a skin disease of some sort. His only tank mate is a small Lunare Wrasse.

I am under heavy assumption that you have a new tank and puffers especially spiney box can be sensitive to poor water quality or changing conditions.
What is age of tank and current ammonia and nitrate levels?
are you using RODI water or tap water from the faucet ?
What is temperature and salinity Also ?
Increase oxygen by as simple as addition of air stone and pump

Hi, welcome to Reef2Reef,

What do you see that indicates a skin disease? Can you see spots? I can't see anything in the pictures or video other than a possibly paler than normal skin - but it may be something that isn't visible to me.

As mentioned, the first thing you need to rule out is water quality problems - usually ammonia is the culprit.

Also, I take it the puffer isn't eating (I see the uneaten food there). Always pull uneaten food promptly so that it doesn't foul the water.

How long have you had this fish?
Have you medicated it with anything yet?
What size tank is it?

Jay
