The list could go on and on, but for you, what are you seeing as your reefing hot buttons or topics in the year to come? Would be interesting to see where everyone's focus may be in the year to come. Hopefully you all had a successful 2021 or at least fun in your reefing adventures. What does 2022 have in store for you?

my current focus is lighting, flow, and budget choices. i want to start saving more money so i can have more flexibility when it comes to buying new equipment, or running maintenance on what i currently have.

Currently setting up a 20g long ADA style tank with zero equipment cluttering the tank, lily pipes/canister filter, real live rock. Gorgonian/macro heavy with oddball inverts and other uncommon tank inhabitants. I can't wait til the final pieces arrive this weekend! I'll be focused on the new tank and tinkering with a very unconventional set-up.

Check out my build thread.

Got my first sps tank going, my main things are definitely flow and finding parameters that work for my set up.

Definitely lighting. Been playing with some 6500k work light LEDs on my softie tank. Growing faster than any of the black box LEDs. Gonna play with my SPS frag tank soon. See if they grow faster as well. I know with halides this used to work. Lower Kelvin, faster growth. Excited to see LEDs(cheap ones) working so far.

Looks like I voted on everybody else's Hot Topic. Automation, algae control, and even though I didn't vote for new tank setup, that would be my goal if I ever do buy a new house.

I'm an IT guy and therefore a tech nerd by trade. Which means automation and, more specifically, OpenSource things I can take apart and/or write code for on my part. Which then means at some point this year I will be digging into a Raspberry PI and by extension, Reef Pi. I will be pulling things apart and putting them back together, as much because of the tech as it is for my reef tanks. Go figure. Lol.
