Hi guys,

woke up today and found my female Banggai dead She‘s stuck to the powerhead but i dont believe it was the reason for her death.

We had her for 7 weeks and she‘s always been healthy, swam around the tank actively. Also, 3-4 days ago, she started to chase the male Banggai to transfer her eggs. Look how she "twitched" and swam to the left and then to the right of the male Banggai alternatingly:

she managed to transfer her eggs yesterday. Even after the transfer was successful, she was still chasing the male Banggai around:

Could it be that the reason for her death is exhaustion? She was chasing him for days. Or was the male Banggai so annoyed that he killed her? Or because of her old age? Too weak to fight against the current and then got sucked in the powerhead?

The other tankmates have never shown any aggression towards my Banggai pair.

yeah i was thinking that she's been getting weak for chasing around the male banggai for days to transfer the eggs. And even after the eggs were transfered, she was still chasing him across the tank and twitching around him continuously (probably to mate again?)
