What kind of coral

I’m trying to find out what kind of brain coral I have. Also it is starting to shrink. What could be the cause of it?

It is hammer and is In acclimation box under minimal lighting and water flow causing it to shrivel

Should I take it out of the box and put it in the tank or take it out?

Place on the sand bed and let it acclimate

Definitely a euphyllia. It would help to post a thorough reading of parameter. If parameters are in the green zone, it might be a flow or lighting issue. Also check around the coral skeleton for any type of infection or parasite. Receding flesh around the base of the coral is not a good sign. Flip the coral & give it a good inspection & if all checks out it just might need a bit more flow & light but parameters need to be shared in order to narrow down the problem, NO3, PO4, ALK, Temps, Ca, Mg, PH, etc. good luck.

Alkalinity 9
Nitrates 0
Nitrites 0
PH 8.2

You should be able to place it in tank (lower part of tank)

I moved the pump up higher and placed him on the sand bed. He instantly opened up. I’ll check him in the morning

So he was doing great up until my lights went out. Now he’s looking terrible again
