Was going to start setting up a standard 90. Looking at getting 120 lbs of Carab sea fiji pink sand. Would like to keep some leopard wrasses. Not sure if I want to go to a deep sand bed again. This would give me a 1.75 inch depth and if I put the rock work on the glass first it would be a bit higher. I would assume this is enough for a leopard wrasse? I would be open to a less expensive alternative if it was as good.

Does this sound reasonable or does any one have any other suggestions?

I recommend a larger grain like Carib-Sea Special Grade. It will blow around much less than Fiji Pink allowing you to get higher flow, but still fine enough for sand sifters and wrasses. Could even go for larger particle size if you want SPS dominant with even more flow.

1.75" depth is fine. As long as your sand is under 4mm it's fine for wrasses.

My 90g wrasse dominant tank has Fiji Pink with some Special Grade mixed in, I have no issues with sand being blown around.

Just saw this thread so may be too late.
I like the CaribSea "Special Grade" grain as well (and went with that during my last tank transfer).

PetSmart has it on sale for 40 lbs at $19.99 + $4.99 shipping online, just in case you're still looking and that price seems good to you:
