I have two primary display tanks, 215-gal Planet Aquariums Peninsula and a 90-gal Aqueon that's also setup in peninsula fashion.

Custom all the way

DIY the stand
Yes, nothing manufactured comes close to my cabinets and stands. The cabinet/stand for the 90 is an integral part of my kitchen and dining area, and can be used as a small bar if the tank is ever removed.

The cabinet/stand for my 215 is built as a room divider and looks like part of the house original construction. I engineered it for <1/16" deflection at 16,000 lbs. center loading using 3/8x1-1/2" stainless steel spines laminated between dado'd and laminated 2x8s and 3/4" maple plywood.

Nope

If CADE had their bigger peninsula tanks available when I started my project, I would have seriously considered that purchase. If I had known how long the PA tank was going to be delayed or how poor the build quality was going to be, I would have chosen differently. Waterbox also has very nice systems. It's nice to have choices.

These are my two custom Glass Cages 150s, before they got fully stained and moved into final place, side by side. Very happy with them.

Some stand construction photos for the 72" 215-gal...

3/8 x 1-1/2" stainless steel spines laminated between 2x8s and 3/4 plywood

IMG_20210116_234042904.jpg

Inverted and ready to finish

IMG_20210121_204123302.jpg

Upright and finished, less door panels

IMG_20210128_233008731.jpg

Door panels are 1/2" foam board painted to match the interior walls and held in place with magnetic latch plates. Plastic handles were added to each door panel.
With limited space off each side, conventional hinges weren't practical, so I opted for removeable panels that can be easily set aside. It's probably the best design feature of the entire project.
