What kind of wrasse is this?

Nahacky's or tongan flame i still don't think they been offically named yet..i sent an email to H. Tanaka to find out

I asked Kevin Kohen to take a look at this thread. He believes it is a Nahacky's Wrasse, but not the rarer Fiji variant mentioned in the link. Most probably the Tonga variant, which while not considered common, is seen more frequently than the Fiji one. He also said definitely not a Bathyphilus.

Thanks, I am almost 100 percent sure that it was transhipped from vanuatu though. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Beautiful Tong Flame pair. i have had a pair before. great fish. the male will get a bright pink coloration by his dorsal fin.
