I am very curious: What fraction of your fish got sick or died, say in the first month after arrival? It doesn't matter what type of fish, anything that belongs in a reef aquarium. It doesn't matter if this happened in the quarantine or display tank.
I am new in the hobby, and of my first 9 fish, 3 died and 2 more got sick. Just in the first month, I saw ick, fin rot, flukes, and a lost a fairy wrasse to an unknown disease. I didn't see this coming! I was 15 years in the freshwater aquarium hobby as a kid and never experienced anything like this. Now, I am a life scientist by profession and I thought that I would be able to handle anything from water chemistry to fish health and disease. I couldn't have been more wrong! I feel really responsible for these wonderful creatures and gutted by the first months experience .
