What range of alkalinity do you use? How much of a margin do you allow?

I'm using the alkatronic to monitor my alk, and I've been using a range of 8.5 dkh to 9.5 dkh. However, I'm wondering if I should use a smaller range. What do you guys use as a range?

I keep mine between 8.25-8.5. I use a Trident and controlled dosing and I try to keep it in that range for all 4 daily tests. It rarely goes any higher or lower

Wow! I was considering dropping my range back to about .5 dkh variance. Sounds like I should definitely do that and maybe even aim for something more precise than even that.

Does that mean when the alk reaches 8.5 dKH, you add alk until the value is 9.5, and then don't dose until the alk reaches 8.5 again?

No. It just means that anything within that range is deemed "acceptable." If it goes below that range, the alkatronic doses enough to bring it back to over 8.5 (usually just over that).

I dose manually daily, I keep it at 8.5 dkh. Just using a pipett of 10ML per day, testing weekly with Hanna checker.
