Looking for medicine recommendations to cover basic treatment should the need arise. Still undecided if I want to treat at all in qt before adding to display.

What should I have on hand?
What brands have you all had better experiences with?
Any supplements and food recommendations while medicating.

Besides this does anyone have good sources for handling nitrifying bacteria during treatment, or will I be doing more frequesnt water changes to not have to worry about it?

For bacteria , biospora and fitz prime do a good job of instant cycling a tank when need be. I like to have prazi pro and metroplex just in case but more importantly to have prime on hand in case of ammonia and I’m a fan of selcon for vitamins

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure as the old saying goes.
Yep. I would tear in qt right away if I knew what a good way to do it was, without causing the fish any unnecessary stress.

but I saw my clowns struggle with something I couldn’t identify, and now am running my small nano fallow to kill off anything that might still be in there. It was a bummer for sure.

An extra aerator I like to have on hand. I use that in all my qt/hospital tanks (extra airstones too). My last 6 fish I successfully completed the TTM but having read some more, I'm thinking about switching to copper. I also do focus/metro. Prime should always be on hand for those oh crap moments.

For seeding qt, the sponge filter in the sump is easy/cheap.

As I go further along I also get more picky about my fish choices and locations I buy them. When I had 1 or 2 fish the risk of messing up qt from the crappy LFS is relatively lower than when you have 6 + fish. Not to mention the headache/heartache to treat them all.

Prazi, Copper power, General Cure, maybe some Furan-2 and Cipro depending on what you are keeping/treating, Prime.

Thank you guys so much. Placing my order now.

general cure was out of stock but will pick that up locally.
Aquashella Chicago is also a little over a week away. So will be on the look out for extra qt/hospital tank equipment. 4044D635-56D4-4952-916F-F809CC478781.png C40D4A59-1550-4FD4-9959-699EDAD0967A.png

I too always have Prime on hand. 1 for water changes. Secondly, to remedy the slightest spike in ammonia that should come my way

You use prime during water changes? Do you not use rodi or is it just to be safe.

thinking I should maybe start doing the same.
